My Practice

I am a humanistic integrative psychotherapist and counsellor, having trained at CPPD in North London, one of the UK's leading humanistic integrative training schools. My integration is informed by psychodynamic theory, including attachment theory and theories from the humanistic schools, including Gestalt, transactional analysis and person-centred theory. The integrative approach is about exploring what makes us, us in a way that is compassionate and also fundamentally hopeful for our capacity to make the changes we want to.

Some of the issues I work with include:

  • Abuse

  • Addiction/Substance Misuse

  • Anxiety

  • Attachment disorder

  • Bipolar disorder

  • Borderline personality disorder (BPD)

  • Bullying

  • Burnout

  • Depression

  • Eating disorders

  • Emotional abuse

  • Family issues

  • Generalised anxiety disorder (GAD)

  • Kink-aware therapy

  • LGBTQ+ counselling

  • Low self-confidence

  • Low self-esteem

  • Narcissistic personality disorder

  • Panic attacks

  • Paranoia

  • Relationship problems

  • Self-harm

  • Sexual abuse

  • Social anxiety

  • Stress

  • Suicidal thoughts

  • Work-related stress

Working with Dreams

In addition to my core training, I have completed further training specifically in dream work. Our dreams can offer a wealth of information and insight, providing a bridge between what we are happy or at least willing to pay attention to in our day to day lives (our consciousness) and that which deeper, even buried parts of ourselves may be seeking our attention (our unconsciousness).

My way of working with dreams is informed by a Jungian approach which believes that our dreams are a communication, albeit using a language we don’t necessarily understand. This means working with the symbolism in the dream and what those images or references mean to you. This is not about any object having a given meaning (for example an owl does not indicate wisdom) but rather working out the codes unique to you.

There is no expectation for clients to bring dreams, however, it can be particularly useful for clients who have difficult or painful feelings but find it hard to focus on or locate what is upsetting.

"The dream is a little hidden door in the innermost and most secret recesses of the soul..."

Carl Jung

For counsellors and psychotherapists

I offer small, confidential groups to mental health professionals interested in dream exploration. These groups invite someone each time to share a dream, which as a group we then explore together.

The sessions are approximately 90 minutes, once a month and are focussed on the exploration of symbolism rather than the dreamer themselves. If you would like to find out more, please do get in touch.
